A miner you’ll want on the desk, not in the closet.
The open-source Bitaxe Gamma 601 — the board the home-mining community trusts — rebuilt for quiet, 24/7 duty. Drag to turn it: these are photographs of the unit that ships, not renders.
- ▸ Bitmain BM1370 ASICThe SHA-256 chip from the world’s largest miner maker — the same family as Bitmain’s industrial Antminer S21 line.
- ▸ Bolted heatsink, quieter fanThe heatsink is screwed to the board, not press-fit. The fan is chosen for a desk, not a data centre.
- ▸ OLED status displayHashrate, temperature and IP address at a glance. Full AxeOS dashboard in your browser.
- ▸ Adjustable display standTilts on knurled orange knobs. Looks like it belongs next to a cold-storage plate.

// 02 · what we fixed
Same proven board. None of the usual headaches.
A bare Bitaxe is a great board and a weekend project. The top complaints from owners are the parts around it — power supplies that sag, heatsinks that shake loose, loud fans, fiddly setup. That’s what you’re paying us for.
-

// 03 · the honest maths
The odds, live from the network.
Most sellers bury this. We lead with it: difficulty updates every minute from the live chain, and the formula is the one every pool uses. Long odds, real prize, almost nothing to run.
// your inputs
The maths
P(block) = 1 − e−λ, λ = H·t ⁄ (D·232)
H = your hashrate, t = time, D = network difficulty (live: —). Same formula pools use.

- 3.06 BTC
- 3.125 BTC subsidy less CKPool’s 2%, plus that block’s fees

Straight talk: this is a long shot, not an income. Expected time to a block is —. You’re buying a real, verifiable shot at the whole reward — and a node-sized seat in the network that secures Bitcoin.

// 05 · setup
Hashing in about five minutes.
It ships pointed at CKPool solo. You bring two things: a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and a Bitcoin address you control.
- 01
Plug it in
Connect the power supply. The OLED lights up and the miner opens its own setup Wi-Fi network.
- 02
Join your Wi-Fi
From your phone, join the miner’s network and choose your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- 03
Paste your address
Enter your Bitcoin address. It’s already pointed at CKPool solo — it starts hashing immediately.
!Check your Wi-Fi first: the miner joins 2.4 GHz only. Most routers have one; mesh systems that merge 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name may need a separate 2.4 GHz or guest network switched on.
// 06 · don’t trust, verify
Your address. Your block. No account with us.
Open hardware ↗
The Bitaxe Gamma is open-source hardware (CERN-OHL-S-2.0). Every trace on the board is published.
Open firmware ↗
AxeOS is open source. Your miner talks to the pool you choose — nothing phones home to us.
Solo means solo ↗
A found block pays your own address directly. CKPool keeps 2% only on a found block. Switch pools — or point it at your own node — any time.
// 07 · questions
Asked and answered.
Will this make me money? +
Almost certainly not, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something else. A solo miner is a long shot: every hash is a real chance at a whole block reward, and the odds are long — the calculator above shows them live. It costs about $2 a month in electricity. People buy it to participate in Bitcoin, to learn, and for the chance.
Has a miner this size ever found a block? +
Yes. Bitaxe-class home miners have found real blocks on solo pools, each worth a full block reward. It is rare — that is the point of the odds above — but it is real.
What is solo mining, and why CKPool? +
In a normal pool you get a tiny, steady share. Solo, you get nothing — unless your miner finds a block, and then the reward goes to your address. CKPool solo needs no account and keeps 2% only if you find a block. You can point the miner at any other pool, including your own node, from its dashboard.
Does it work with my Wi-Fi? +
It needs a 2.4 GHz network. Most routers broadcast one. Mesh systems that merge 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name can confuse it — if so, turn on a separate 2.4 GHz network or guest network.
How loud is it? How hot? +
It draws about 18 W — a phone charger, not a space heater. The redesigned fan is quiet enough for a desk.
Who holds the keys? +
You do. You type your own Bitcoin address into the miner; a found block pays it directly. No account with us, no cloud, no custody. The firmware is open source.
How is this different from a bare Bitaxe? +
Same proven open-source board and Bitmain chip. What you are paying for is everything around it: a power supply that doesn’t sag, a bolted heatsink, a quieter fan, a stand, pre-configuration and support — the things people otherwise buy separately and troubleshoot themselves.
Do you ship internationally? +
Yes — to 50 countries across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and non-EU Europe, with tracking. International orders are shipped duties-unpaid: your country may charge import duty or VAT on delivery, collected by the carrier. We don’t ship to the EU or UK yet. The power supply has a US plug; you may need a plug adapter.
Is there a discount for more than one? +
Yes: two miners save 5% and three save 10% — they ship in one box, and we pass part of the shipping saving on. A partner code and a pack saving don’t combine; checkout gives you whichever is bigger. For four or more, email us for volume pricing.
Can I pay with bitcoin? +
That is the plan — Bitcoin and Lightning checkout through our own BTCPay Server. Until it is switched on, checkout takes PayPal and cards.
What if it arrives faulty or I change my mind? +
Returns within 30 days of delivery, and a 12-month warranty against defects. Email us and a person answers.
